Verse of the Week January 23, 2012 Psalms 23: 4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
(Matthew 5:48)

All Christians in any state or walk of life are called to the fullness of Christian life and to the perfection of charity.
God has called us to share the glory of his Son. In the book of Romans chapter 8. 28-30 we read: “We know that by turning everything to their good God co-operates with all those who love him, with all those that he has called according to his purpose. They are the ones he chose especially long ago and intended to become true image of his Son, so that his Son might be the eldest of many brothers. He called those he intended for this; those he called he justified, and with those he justified he shared his glory”.
The way of perfection passes by way of the Cross. There is no holiness without renunciation and spiritual battle. As we read in 2. Timothy 4: 5 “Be careful always to choose the right course; be brave under trials; make the preaching of the Good News your life’s work, in thoroughgoing service”.
All Faithful children of our holy mother, the Assyrian church of the East, rightly hope for the grace of final perseverance and the recompense of God their Father, for the pure faith of their predecessors that they carry in their hearts and for the good works accomplished with his grace in communion with the Lord Jesus and his Church. Act now before it will be too late, if you don’t know how, or where to start, please call me. Thank you.
